Ingredients

Apples
  • 5 crisp apples Granny Smith or Honeycrisp, cored and diced
  • 1 caramel sauce For drizzling just before serving
Snickers and peanuts
  • 4 Snickers bars Full size, cut into bite-sized pieces and frozen briefly
  • 1 cup dry roasted peanuts
Creamy dressing
  • 8 oz cream cheese Softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 oz whipped topping 1 tub (8 oz) Cool Whip, thawed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Equipment

  • 1 stand mixer

Method

Prep the add-ins
  1. Freeze the Snickers pieces for 20 minutes so they stay firm when mixed, then set aside to prevent extra melting.
  2. Dice the crisp apples into bite-size chunks and keep them ready for folding into the dressing.
  3. Measure the dry roasted peanuts so you can fold them in with the apples and Snickers.
Make the creamy dressing
  1. Beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  2. Fold in the whipped topping and vanilla extract until combined and creamy.
Assemble and chill
  1. Fold the diced apples into the dressing until every piece is coated.
  2. Gently fold in the frozen Snickers pieces and the peanuts so the candy stays firm.
  3. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm up the salad and thicken the coating.
  4. Drizzle caramel sauce over the top just before serving for a fresh caramel finish.

Notes

Pro tip: Keep the Snickers pieces frozen right until folding so they don’t streak or soften into the dressing. Store covered in the refrigerator up to 3 days; the apples may release a little juice over time. Freezing is not recommended because the candy and whipped dressing texture can break. For a lighter option, use reduced-fat cream cheese and light whipped topping if you want a less rich dressing.
