Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp butter softened, for greasing
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese softened
  • 1 wheel (8 oz) Brie cheese rind removed and cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1 cup whole-berry cranberry sauce
  • 1 tsp orange zest
  • 0.25 tsp kosher salt
  • 0.33 cup pecans chopped
  • 1 baguette sliced, for serving

Equipment

  • 1 1 1/2-quart baking dish

Method

  1. Heat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Grease a 1 1/2-quart baking dish with the butter.
  3. In a medium bowl, stir the cream cheese until smooth.
  4. Fold in the Brie.
  5. Spread the cheese mixture evenly in the dish.
  6. Stir the cranberry sauce, orange zest, and salt together.
  7. Spoon the cranberry mixture over the cheese mixture.
  8. Scatter the pecans on top.
  9. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until hot and bubbling at the edges and the cheese is soft throughout.
  10. Rest for 5 minutes.
  11. Serve warm with the baguette slices.

Notes

For the smoothest base, soften the cream cheese before mixing. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 days; freezing is not recommended because the cheese can become grainy. For a gluten-free option, serve with gluten-free crackers instead of baguette slices.
