BBQ Sausage Bites

BBQ sausage bites are baked in a 9x13-inch dish until the sauce bubbles and the sausage reaches 165°F. The brown sugar barbecue sauce coats each piece for a sweet, tangy appetizer with lightly caramelized edges.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb smoked sausage fully cooked, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tbsp light brown sugar packed
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder

Equipment

  • 1 9x13-inch baking dish

Method

  1. Heat the oven to 400°F.
  2. In a large bowl, stir together the barbecue sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder.
  3. Add the sausage pieces and toss until evenly coated.
  4. Transfer the sausage and sauce to a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  5. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the sauce is bubbling and the sausage reaches 165°F.

Notes

For even coating, toss the sausage thoroughly in the sauce before transferring it to the dish. Refrigerate leftovers for 3 to 4 days; freeze for up to 2 months. For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free barbecue sauce and Worcestershire sauce.
