Ingredients

Salted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup salted butter Softened to room temperature for easy spreading.
Honey drizzle
  • 2 tablespoons honey Drizzle over the butter after spreading.
Cranberry topping
  • 0.25 cup dried cranberries Chopped for even distribution.
Pistachio crunch
  • 0.25 cup pistachios Chopped for a crunchy, even layer.
Orange and rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest Zest the orange finely for bright flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary Finely chopped rosemary to scatter through the toppings.
Flaky salt and heat
  • 0.5 teaspoon flaky sea salt Add as a final finishing touch.
  • 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes Sprinkle lightly for subtle heat.
Bread for swiping
  • 1 each baguette or crusty sourdough Torn or sliced for dipping and swiping.

Method

Build the butter board
  1. Spread the softened butter across a wooden board using the back of a spoon to form swooshes and swirls, keeping an even, swipable layer.
  2. Drizzle the honey over the butter in thin lines so it pools lightly in the swirls.
  3. Scatter the chopped dried cranberries, chopped pistachios, orange zest, and finely chopped rosemary evenly over the butter so every bite has toppings.
  4. Finish with flaky sea salt and red pepper flakes, then serve immediately with the torn or sliced baguette or crusty sourdough for swiping.

Notes

For the cleanest swirls, leave the salted butter at room temperature until it spreads without tearing, then assemble right before serving. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator up to 2 days; let stand 10 minutes to soften again before serving. Freeze topping items (cranberries, pistachios) for longer storage if you want faster prep later. For a lower-sodium option, use unsalted butter and increase honey slightly to balance flavor.
