Editorial & Testing Standards

How recipes are created, tested, and improved over time.

  1. Research & planning. We look at traditional methods, family tricks, and modern shortcuts before testing.
  2. Kitchen testing. Each recipe is cooked at least once by the primary author using regular home equipment.
  3. Timing & texture checks. We note visual cues (golden edges, bubbling sauce, etc.) so you’re not relying only on the clock.
  4. Clarity & readability. Instructions are edited to be skimmable, with clear steps and notes for tricky parts.
  5. Nutritional details (when provided). Any nutrition info is an estimate and may vary based on brands and portion sizes.
  6. Post-publish updates. We read comments, add FAQs, and tweak instructions if readers need more guidance.

Corrections: If you spot a mistake or confusing step, please reach out through the contact page. We review and update recipes as quickly as possible.

Ingredients, Measurements & Equipment

  • Measurements. Recipes primarily use U.S. cups/teaspoons. When precision matters (like baking), grams or extra notes may be included.
  • Ingredient swaps. Suggested substitutions are based on what we’ve tested. Other swaps might work but can change texture, taste, or baking time.
  • Pans & ovens. Standard home ovens and common pan sizes are assumed. If a different size pan or method is needed, it will be clearly noted.
  • Food safety. For meats and other sensitive recipes, internal temperature or safety cues are included where relevant.
